RMS Reminder - We will be giving away food boxes donated by Cherokee Nation today, beginning at 10:00 AM. Boxes are available for anyone on a first-come, first-serve basis.

May 11 - 17 🌷 Happy Mother’s Day to our Rocky Mountain moms! Monday, May 11 🚀 10:00-12:00, “Meals on Mondays” pickup (school breakfast and lunch program) 🚀 9:00-12:00, Return any and all completed work that you have not submitted electronically to teachers. Also return laptops, textbooks, library books, and athletic suits or practice gear. Drop off will be in paved parking lot. Tuesday, May 12 😊 10:00-12:00, Food Box Distribution. Food boxes provided by Cherokee Nation to any family. First come, first serve. Saturday, May 16 👨🏼‍🎓 4:00-8:00, 8th grade graduation with immediate family, pictures and filming for virtual production. Families will be contacted Monday for appointments. We will schedule a traditional ceremony later in the summer if restrictions are lifted. Sunday, May 17 👨🏼‍🎓 2:00-4:00, Kindergarten “Come and Go” Graduation with immediate family. RMS News..... 1. This is Teacher Appreciation Week - reach out to your child’s teacher and teacher assistants to let them know how much you appreciate them. 💙 2. This is the final week of school! All assignments should be completed this week. 3. Monday, May 11th, 9:00-12:00. Return all homework packets, textbooks, library books, athletic uniforms and practice gear, and laptop computers **If you have sent your work electronically to your child’s teacher, you do not need to return the packet. 4. 8th grade graduation info coming in the next couple days.

RMS Reminder - if you have been coming to get meals, or if you signed up on the survey, today is “Meals on Mondays”. Please come before noon to pick up your meals for the week!

Beginning April 13th, we will be distributing weekly meals on Mondays only from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. At that time, you may pick up 5 breakfast and 5 lunches for each child in the household that is 18 and under. We feel this will benefit our families with time, mileage and exposure. Items will be packed so that some assembly may be required. E.g. meat, cheese, and bread will be packaged separately in order to maintain optimum freshness during the week. Parents or designated persons are now able to pick up meals and children do not have to be present. This program is for ALL children 18 and under. This works the same as the daily school lunch program. It is not an issue of whether you have enough food in your house or not. You taking a meal, does not take away from another child. This is a program to HELP each of our families. If you want to order meals for your children, fill out one survey per household. 2020 April School Board Meeting

Distance Learning Day 1........ Packet pickup went great! Shoutout to all parents and students who brought smiles, encouraging words, and air hugs as you came through the line! You are the best!!! Remember, this is not the way any of us expected to complete the year. Don’t stress over the transition. We are all learning this together. Parents, keep reassuring and encouraging your children. Unconditional love, support, and kindness to others are some of the best lessons they can learn. Not all important lessons are taught through textbooks and the within the walls of a school. Rocky Mountain teachers and staff have poured thought, love and prayers into your packets. I know you appreciate them as much as I do. Teachers will be contacting families from time to time. If you have any questions, please reach out to them or me. We are here for you and happy to help. PS - I suppose all went well today with student behavior. I had zero distress calls needing to send anyone to the superintendent’s office. 😊 Have a great week! 💙

Distance Learning Packet Pick-Up Schedule Monday, April 6, 2020 All students, PreK 3’s - 8th grade, have a packet that needs to be picked up. Students do not have to be present. If parents are working, send an older sibling or other designated adult to pick up your child’s things. Last Name A-H, 9:00-10:30 I-P, 10:30-12:00 Q-Z, 12:00-1:30 If you are having to self-quarantine due to possible virus exposure, please call the office on Tuesday to make other arrangements. Do not jeopardize your health or ours. You will drive through the paved parking lot while staff gather packets and a grab & go meal for each of your students. It is our hope that Monday runs as smoothly as possible. However, we certainly hope and appreciate you arriving armored with patience, understanding and grace as we work through this process. We love and appreciate each of you and are looking forward to seeing you on Monday. Please stay safe and healthy.
